Shenzhen Metro Line 5 with a total investment of approximately 20.06 billion CNY（approximately 2.97 billion USD）starts from Qianhaiwan in the west and ends in Huangbeiling in the east. It crosses Baoan, Nanshan, Longgang and Luohu districts with a total length of 40 km. It has 27 stations and 9 interchange stations with 14 rail transit and railway lines, including 3 interchange hubs, which is the longest subway project in terms of domestic urban rail transit. The project only took three and a half years, which started construction on December 21, 2007, and opened for trial operation on June 22, 2011.
